Odisha is an economically poor state , where around 40 percent people leave below poverty line . During the last 75 years of  Independence, the Government  has not been able to satisfy the basic necessities of the life of common people  like food ,education, health, shelter  &  drinking water. The pathetic  living condition of the people KBK ( Koraput, Balangiri & Kalahandi )districts and other tribal dominated areas need immediate attention. Keeping in mind the Development of the Society, some social workers , professionals and intellectuals of the state from the NGO namely “SANKALP”   on the first day of January 2007 At – Patrakana, PO – Kasarda under Niali block in the district of Cuttack. “SANKALP”    was registered on 26^th October 2007 under the Society registration act, 1860 vide Registration No -  22509/99 of 2007-2008 . It is a non-Governmental, non-profit Charitable Organisation. Since its inception, Sankalp is dedicatedly working for more than one decade to bring about perceivable change in the society. Its work have mostly focused on the care, protection and education for the poor, neglected, dropout, orphan, semi orphan & destitute tribal children of the state of Odisha.
